2665, TPS is acting way wierd Posted by Avenger, Jun-02-01 04:46 PM
Well, today I got the TPS (and other sensor) off my old TB and put it on my new bored one. Everything went okay. Didn't have anymore problems putting it on of putting on the new TB. Wierd thing is my AFC reads the TPS and only says that it goes to about 85% when I have it floored. I took off the intake and put the pedal and it is open completely. So what gives? Anyway with any ideas? Did I screw up my TPS when I took it off?
BTW a bored TB makes a bit of difference. I was actually amazed. I may not be getting the full potential out of it right now but when I gun it the CAI makes a really cool load sound that I like ... plus it pulls a bit harder in the lower. I think it will be even better once I get this TPS nonsense fixed.

Reset the ECU and if that doesn;t help it check to see that you didn't pinch the o-ring on the TPS. and that iot is very tight. I had idle problems with mine because my TPS when I installed m,y bored TB. took it off re installed it and tightenened the hell out of it Works great now.

Here's the sure fix. Mine did the same thing and one of my 4g63 friends told me how to fix it. Turn the key to the on position but not running. Then press the peddle down and hold it there. It will slowly climb to 100% and will work fine from that point on, problem solved

Yup Sean got it right. Just had to recalibrate the SAFC. :)
