26520, Where can I get a testpipe online?!?!? Posted by RoboTechDSM, Jul-02-02 06:09 PM
I know testpipe.com sells them, but their order page isn't secured. I'd hate to give away my CC number on an unsecured server. A big IF, I do get it from them, how are they (service, shipping, etc...)?? Thanks!!!!

Shipping and quality are both fantastic from them. I ordered mine and it came in 3-4 days later. I didn't have any problem with the ordering page, either. No fishy transactions on my credit card, other then a motor and a lot of tools, looks like someone stole my credit card number and is planning on getting a 2.4L motor... hmmmmm... ;-) -=B-=

In this new fangled age it seems everyone has forgotten about the telephone, its the funny looking thing with a cord and numbers on it that will occasionally ring and there is a midget in the handset that runs down throught the lines to relay your message. Give them a call if you dont like the non-secure site, and make sure to mention that to them when you order.

Just asking, but why does everyone BUY their testpipes online for such a high price?? $35 + $10 shipping??? I made my testpipe for about $10. Just buy 2 flanges (I got mine from Road Race Engineering) and buy a length of pipe the same length as the cat. Mark the angle that the flanges need to be welded by comparing it to your cat, then take it to a muffler shop and ask them to weld them on.

26525, WHY?! Posted by BLACKWIDOWDSM, Jul-03-02 06:02 AM
Why buy test pipe? They dont come with braces and sumtimes cause a rattle. Get a muffler shop to weld a 2.5 pipe in there. I did...it rattled becasue of the heat sheild...so i welded the heat sheil more securley.....you might not beleive this but the exhaust CEL i had before went away...
Life is a bitch. Slap it around a little.

a muffler shop would weld a pipe on to replace your cat??? I figure they would say something about it not being right etc...I know in the future I will be getting rid of my cat, or either gettin a hi-flo one.

the places i went to wouldnt do it when i asked "can i have a custom exhaust from the DP back and replace the cat" if you give them the flanges and the pipe and say where to weld it and don't say what it's for they shouldn't be liable for anything, and thus will do it.
