catalytic converter efficiency(sp) failure. i had the same code and replaced mine, just passed emissions with it too.

So mine finally figured out I have no cat. It took my car 4-5 months to figure it out...My car is dumb..LoL

It's not telling you that you don't have a cat. It's telling you that your oxygen sensor in bank one (upstream) is bad. I had that 72 code with no cat then I changed the O2 sensor and now it's gone. Just replace the sensor.

^^ not necessarily, it could be the downstream one also, if the second doesnt agree with the first you will get the cat error. if you dont have a cat you should do this http://www2.cesa12.k12.wi.us/brent/personal/neon/pic/cat_resistor.html
