I'm having hesitation problems and getting code 61, Baro Sensor open or shorted.

From what I understand, the baro sensor is located in the MAS. The problem is that I don't know exactly where the MAS is located under the hood of my 97 Eclipse GS.

If you have any tips or pictures, please post them.

Thanks,
dougie2

I have a tip. Stop looking for the Mass Air Sensor, you won't find it. We don't have one.

Did you get that code from doing the key trick? I didn't think that code would pop up? Sure it wasn't 51? Which is fuel system lean?

Yeah, I used the key trick... I'm positive it's flashing code 61.

Is there not a baro sensor ANYWHERE in the 97 GS? My car hesitates randomly and often stalls while accelerating at any speed. Started doing this when the weather started to get warm, and at night when the air cools down my car is just fine. Seems logical that it's be the baro sensor, any more suggestions?

Where are you getting your codes? If it's a code about a absolute barometric pressure sensor or something, that's going to be your MAP sensor. it is located on the passenger side of your intake plenum.
