I got the NGK 7e-11's. I'm putting them in tommorow. The HRC manual stated to gap them at .035. When I measured it, it's around .040. I know how to widen them, but how do you lessen the gap........hammer that bitch, bang it on the table???? Thanks!!!

do it with your fingers or in the with something, just be carefull, remember you want to reduce the gap by .005 mm so don't go and CLOSE the gap, just use your common sense. is not like they are hypersensitive material.

Get out the hammer!

1. hold spark plug in a vertical upwards position with the gapped end pointing up.

2. still holding plug...now turn it vertically around 180 degrees to where the gapped end is pointing down.

3. stare at it for a while.

4. after your eyes start to strain and go cross-eyed...get tired of looking at it for so long.

5. look down at the floor (pavement, linoleum, carpet, cement, whatever)

6. move hand down towards the ground with the gapped end pointing down still. If u got lazy and it isnt pointing down anymore...repeat steps 1-5 until you are having it pointing down again.

7. in a quick, fast jabbing motion (but not hard, softly)...move hand up and down lightly to make the gap smaller against the ground. (You should be real good at this last step)

8. gap is now smaller.

9. oh shit, you made it too small.

10. your in a bind.

11. go to autozone and ask for help..they know everything! :P

12. buy a gapper.

13. try again at step 1 until u have all this down.

14. if u get lost, read what i said over and over again until you understand it.
