26063, Crane Cams Install Posted by Green_Eclipse_RS, Jun-26-02 12:55 PM Does anyone on the board have crane cams? How hard were they to install and are there any special precautions or things that I should make sure I do or replace? I've already bought valves and springs is there anything else that has to be replaced? Thanks | |

26064, RE: Crane Cams Install Posted by MetalJim, Jun-26-02 02:32 PM With new cams you'll want to replace the camshaft oil seals. You may want to do the 60K maintenance while you're in there(if its time) - timing belt, water pump, idler pulleys, and tensioner. You also may want to consider a new valve cover gasket and upgrading to the PT style rockers and lash adjusters. Sounds like you're also doing a valve job, don't forget to get a new head gasket. | |
