The computer system on my 97 talon makes my car as slow as possible, whats the best possible upgrade for this??? Venom chip??

Give us some more info, like your mods and whatnot. Auto, or stick. It all depends. BUT, there was a post a week ago addressing the fact that there are NO speed limiters in our cars computer, just lack of power above 120 mph or so. I have an auto, and can max it out at 124 mph, here in Germany. Having plenty of autobahn helps, so I can keep it pegged for awhile, without having to slow down. So.... the only solution if you're running the stock computer is more power. Get a turbo kit, or nitrous. Then it will keep on pulling right past that 120 mph mark.

I hope you were testing this on a closed highway or autobahn, I wouldn't want to have to drive to your hometown to wip you arse for being so stupid and driving like that. :)

Who cares how fast your car can go if your not racing (you still wont hit those speeds in the 1/4 mile anyway). Be safe.

Why would you want to go any faster??

i understand about speeds 100+ mph, but i consider in this world there are no "Accidents" there is no such word, if you can manage to add up all the variables (sp??) that are involved in doing this, tires, roads, weather, air, traffic, etc. etc. etc. then i guess if you want to reach those speeds and think is safe, then do it.

I live in mexico, we don't have as good roads as in the US, but they are a few and mostly on long trips, and when all the conditions permit me to go and test my top speed i'll do it, if i get my ass in jail, 500 ft down the cliff, or in a horrible car crash, it was no Accident, it was my fault and i take responsability.

It's your fuel map man, its got a nasty hull. You need to tune the NOS fogger system a 100 millidegrees........ :7

and to answer your question.. there are current no computer upgrades for our cars. all the ones that have been made have shown no improvement at all. however, if the guys at howell automotive could crack our ecu codes soon (hint hint ;)) then we could be seeing some interesting modding in the future.

also, there is no need to go over 120, its getting to 120 thats important! :)

What CVedeclipse says is absolustely correct. It is not about going over 120, it's about how quick you get there. And as was said before - you'll never hit 120 on the 1/4. Be safe on the roads, most roads in the US are not designed for 120 and you'll only be endangering other people on them. We're all here talk about cars, not people who have been killed.

This is a car board, and that movie was designed for our type, of course most have seen it.

Besides all the cheezy stuff I thought the movie was pretty good, it def. got alot of attention, look at all the comercials etc. that now use the word fast and furious in one sentence.

Yea, I've driven in texas... and ya know what? The highways are okay but nobody cares what those lane lines are for. Ask a texan what those lines are for they'll say "nothin."


For real, you top at 120? K, I have a stick and no real mods to speak of but I hit 120 and backed off (just cause I didn't know what the speed rating is on 17" yokohama avid h4s) but it felt like there was still plenty more there. Maybe it's because I wax the car and it gets all slippery ;)

Another thing I noticed about that movie- at the start of the street race they show everyone shifting into 1st gear - and they show Ja Rule's arm and all the sudden he's white.
