25756, 60K Service Posted by skinny_one, Jun-22-02 12:47 AM
What should I get done? I want specifics. I know the belts, plugs, wires, water pump, cooling system flush, oil change. What else, if anything?? Thanks

Make sure you change the tensioner also. They are reusable, but I talked to enough people who say they have seen them fail and it is not worth the risk.
For your benefit, here are some part numbers: M04667611 - Timing Belt M04667283 - Tensioner
I will warn you that I paid $88.54 for that tension with a great discount. It lists for $139.46. But get it!

60k MUST do's: Timing Belt Tensioner pully Idler pulley Water pump New power steering/Alternator belts
60k *should do's: Tensioner Camshaft oil seals Crank oil seal Alternator(might as well since its much easier to get at now) Fuel filter if not done already
That's about it, and if you do all of the above, you should be good to go for a long, long time..

A good guess without measuring it, about 1 1/4" thick It should go the full width of the cam gears..

fuel filter is actually listed as like a 10k service. I recently changed mine, and the stocker was CLOGGED! But now my gas mileage is worse. I guess it flows too good.

do try to get them at satan, in fact go to a chrysler/dodge dealer first and ask for a quote for an Eagle Talon, then go to mitsubishi and ask for a quote for the same parts. and Download CAPS.
You can go to an autostore, but from my experience, they don't have everything at hand and they mess up with the orders, and you will probably get something for a 4g63 like me :rolleyes
NOTE: there are 2 pullys, one comes with a bracket, don't buy that one unless you need the bracket, just buy two idle pullys and put one in the bracket and the other where it should go.
