i got a question about mechanical oil pressure gauges and gauges of the sort.
when the line/capillary is attached do they need to be purged of air? or do we just hook them up and go.
i just put a mechanical oil pressure gauge in to replace my old electrical one. i used a -3 AN steel braided teflon hose instead of the nylon capillary because i don't trust that plastic shit. The guage does not appear to act really fast, it works good and steady, but it is a little slow in reaction. should i purge the line until oil comes out at the gauge side of the line?

I can't tell you that it's necessary...but purging the line sounds like a very legit thing to do. I could picture a bubble of air acting like a damper...slowing transitions.

I say yes bleed the system of air, I actually thought the instructions from autometer actually told you do to that.

i read the autometer instructions front and back and I didn't find anything about bleeding, no problem then, i'll bleed that crap!
