25414, Help on Oxi-Sensor need you to test it Posted by pancito, Jun-18-02 09:15 AM
has anyone disconected the Oxigen Sensor (below the power steering pump), i notice that i disconected it one time and the idle got all screw up, put it back in and was back to normal.
Now the idle is still lumpy, and i'm starting to guess is the oxi sensor.
Can you disconect the oxigen sensor while the motor is running?
If it's safe to do this can someone do it, and tell me their results?

At idle when the engine is warm, the O2 sensor is the most important input used by the ECU to decide how much fuel to inject. When you disconnect it, the ECU must revert to guesses using the IAT, ECT, MAP, etc. Disconnecting it with the engine running will have no permanent effects.
