Last nite i noticed coming home that shifting into gears especially 1st and second was a bit hard. This morning when I got up and drove to work it was worse it would take 2 or 3 tries for the gear to engage, 1st, 2nd 3rd..you name it....the next light it would be better...then next light it would go back to being close to impossible to put into gear. It would go to neutral no problem and there was no grinding noise, it just woudn't move in, it would disengage no problem.
I thought it might be the clutch but i did the test of starting the car on second from a dead stop and was able to pull it off no problem...to make the story short when I got to work I checked the fluid levels and the clutch master cylinder reservoir was dryyyy
I put in brake fluid (I'm not mechanically inclined so it sounded stupid to me but after asking 2 friends and even satan on the phone they agreed that brake fluid was the correct fluid for the clutch reservoir), I pumped it a few times after doing that and now the car feels a lot better..but once in a while i'll feel a little hesitation when switching to first...
Question is could I have damaged something? who knows since when was the thing empty....I dont know if i might have a leak...
Im thinking of taking the car to get it checked make sure there's no leaks and that I didnt fuck anything up...

Check your master cylinder. Is it wet by your cluches pedal or footrest?

Damn...there's a leak...I just checked under the car and there's oil/brakefluid on the floor, right under the area where the reservoir is just next to the tire...there goes the money for my new rims. I guess i'll be taking the vaseline and heading to satan tomorrow. It's not the actual leak that worries me as much but any damage i may have caused by running dry...

New master cylinder does'nt cost much only $50. Rebiult kit is only $15.

buy the rebuilt kit, thats what i did and paid 16 bux. Works good too!
