I am gonna be redoing my whole exhaust and am looking at a decent header. I have a time frame as i am going on a trip in july and have an exhaust leak that i would like to have fixed before then. I wouldn't spend the money on a greddy anyway. For the minimal gains you will see from a header the pacesetter is just fine. You might want to do some checking around, I'm pretty sure I have seen it for under 200.

I have the black pacesetter header. I agree with fasterGS, the gains you will notice arent woth the big $$$ for the greddy. I paid $160 for mine at a local performance shop. If you do get the black, dont panic when you fist take the car for a spin and you see lots of smoke from under you hood. The pain on the header burns off really quick. I have had mine on since January, if you want a pic of what they look like installed email me and i will send it to you.

Yeah the paint does come off but i agree that it was worth the money. I got mine for $150 at a local shop. Also I would recommend if you get the pacesetter header to get a metal gasket. The gasket that comes with it is paper and it doesn't last long.

NE one tried the Chikara header from heddman???

My car will never see a header. Worthless and loss of power at launch.

NOPIONLINE for about 130 I think. I have had one since March and I lik eit a lot. The smell from the paint burning off is sick but it is gone in like a week. And the gains are nice, they are just not at peak or low end so every one tells you it is a worthless mod. In fact it will give you the most midrange of any mod you will do but most people only look at peak HP and make their judgements off that. You tell me, how often do you drive for 2 hours at 7000 RPM's?

I disagree. Launch is the most important thing for a nonturbo car. It's all we got to try and beat the 1/4 mile advantage against others...their speed is what they use to catch back up to us.


I do just fine with my udp, catback and intake, thank u. That is why I see it as a worthless mod. Why take AWAY the only low-end torque we got for launch? I have seen major launch drops in cars with headers. Not worth it to me.


That is just my opinion though...hell I noticed a slower launch in my car after finally getting an exhaust! Yes, I love it at the top of 2nd and 3rd...that catback definetely helped...but I don't agree on the headers.

What do the headers look like after that black paint comes off? Does it get that torched metal look with the blue color or does it just look like metal?

somewhat greyish look, I have not noticed any blueing but it is not exactly pretty either lol. And Kaptain Mike, I know what you are saying but we do spin up to 3k really quick, hell I launch at 3k and feather the clutch and can make it with little or no wheel spin and I still think we get a decent job. And as for low end tq lol, even though your avg 4 banger is pathetic at low end, we have the best end of the deal out of all popular nt 4 banger by at least 20 ft lbs. Hell a civic SI can make all the 160 hp it wants at 8k but it still peaks at like 111 ft lbs at 5k where we make 140 at 3500. That is (to me) a damn respectable number for a 2 liter car. Again, I understand your opinion but these are just mine. And I still prefer my 475 ft lbs in my 89 notch, the talon just looks better and is more fun to drive :).

well.....i have been offered a hot shot header, how are they and what do they go for? Also....my friend was saying something about header studs....what are they and how much they go for :D I love this board and you guys are the best for putting up with me :D :thumbsup

Yeah hotshot is not bad, I would just reuse your factory bolts. I have never done Studs on a header.

I had to put a stud in when i installed my header. Lesson learned: if the bolt does not want to go in straight dont force it :(
