25057, Exhaust Questions Posted by MARKUS2222, Jun-11-02 03:09 AM
Hi All,
My 95 Talon ESi has a rotten smell coming from the exhaust almost every time I turn it off. The exhaust is probably going to have to be replaced sometime this summer. I am looking for a catback system, but don't want a really loud one. I want just a subtle rumble from the exhaust. Any suggestions.
Thanks,
Mark

greddy or tanabe, these two exhaust are pretty quiet. Any exhaust with a resonator will be a lot quieter than one without a resonator.

You get the rotten-egg/sulfer smell when the catalytic converter starts to go bad. It sounds like you need to replace your cat - not your cat-back. I mean, you can change the cat-back if you want, but that won't fix the problem.

Just do it right. If staying NA, get a header, get a section of exhaust made, get a flex sectiion put in, get a new high flow cat, and get a catback made up and have em weld on whatever muffler you like. I'd have it all done at a shop though cause it will be a lot cheaper than buying an expensive cat-back system.
