25035, question about our lash adjusters Posted by jamesman, Jun-10-02 03:17 PM
i heard this ticking coming from inside my head, i took the valve cover off and i noticed that the lash adjusters are a little funny, some were up and some were down. I thought the lash adjusters were supposed to fill with oil and then stay that length, I rotated the cam and the adjusters that were pressed down came up when that lobe released and then when they were pressed down again with that lobe, they were still extended, for like 3 seconds then they compressed again. are these lash adjusters supposed to do this or are they just getting old. i got almost 100,000 miles on my car. i also pulled the one lash adjuster out and put it in a vise to see if i could compress it and i could compress it, and oil came outta that little hole on the side. How much are those PT cruiser lash adjusters at the dealer? are they a grip? thanks james

Just get the Eaton lifters from howell, they are like $90. Satan wanted $250 for all 16 PT lash adjusters. I would go ahead and change them, yours are old AND the new ones have a MUCH larger oil hole for better oiling and less noise.

I need to rework the top end as well, havent really got into that yet, but the ticking is annoying. I can picture oil trying to get through a straw and oil being poured out of a quart and wonder why chrysler didnt make this a recall? I guess its not causing much of a problem then. Just annoying.
Here is where you should get your oversized valves... http://www.cnnpracing.com/
BTW, checkout the Crowler TITANIUM connecting rods for only $2300 bucks, haha....
