4-6 months ago, compression #'s were like 185, 190, 195, 200.
Today, 85, 110, 175, 195!

What the hell happened to my motor? its only got 61,525, had T-belt changed 1-2 months ago, these fuckin regrinds(i think thats the problem, no issues before they came along), PT cruiser lash adj. and cam followers are all that have been done. I have only hit the nitrous once in 2nd and 3rd only! that was just a few days ago. I recently got the code 43(which i now think is because of the compression #'s), but that was only after i went in and shimmed the lash adj. to the correct preload range. I thouhgt the code 43 may have been being caused be an incorrectly shimmed adjuster causing a value to hang open or something so i did a comp. test and got 125, 100, 190, 200. the low numbers above were after i rechecked the shims and got preload on all followers between .002 and .018. most of which were in the .002-.006 preload range.
whay the hell is my compression shot??????? what the fuck did i do?
Does this mean a rebuild? My wife is gonna kill me! say good bye to my nuts, cause she's gonna own'em!!!!!!!

Also, would someone try to find my first post with my compression #'s, i tried the search and get a blank screen when i try to use the
archive option, please and thank you.

ned help guys, gimme some ideas and options.

First thing Tim... breath.

Second start to track down the problem. Pull the head and see what shape everything is in. You may not need to touch the bottom end, could be valve problems. Tear into it and see before you say goodbye to your bells.

I'm not sure if it's time to panic yet Tim. I agree with Michael and you should definately pull the head. You may only have to rehone and rering. Hopefully there'll be no valve damage, but while it's out you may also want to lap the valve seats. I've never seen anyone on this board post anything about lapping the valves, and I've never done it to our heads, but it may be a good idea(?). You could do all that without taking the engine out of the bay. It'll take some time, but I don't think the motor is blown, cause you're still holding some pressure. Also I don't think I would blame the cams, because you had good numbers after putting them in.

Your error code is completely different from the one that I got when I put in my regrinds. I got a misfire code because I had the lifters shimmed too much. Basically, the left exhaust valve on cylinder 1 was open the whole time.

My thought would be to crack the valve cover off, make sure there's no cam load on the rocker for exhaust on cylinder #1 and see if the rocker is too stiff. Meaning, putting pressure on the valve. If it is, pull the shims out of that hole, button it back up. Clear the codes and drive it for 5 miles. Although, you should be able to tell in about 5 seconds.
