24817, Tranny fluid question.
Posted by Dave_FL, Jun-08-02 07:08 AM
Kind of a dumb question but......When the tranny comes off the engine does the fluid come out of it or is it still in the tranny. The reason why I ask is because my mechanic is going to put my engine back together and of course the tranny isnt on the engine right now. So I was wondering if I had to tell him that we only use the dealers tranny fluid becuase I wouldnt want him to put in anything else. And for all who dont know I have a manual transmission. Thanks!

If he pulled the axles, it needs refilled. If it is still in the car with the axles in it (can this be done??) it will be fine.

It's about $12 - 14 per qt. and the tranny holds 2.12 qts.
