24780, brospeed header Posted by AaronD95GS, Jun-07-02 12:53 PM
Is the brospeed header by bosal a good one? I was going to get a greddy but they are on backorder so the only one I can get is the brospeed.

Brospeed is a nice header. No problems with it. One draw back is, is that its a 4-2-1 design vs. the 4-1 design of the Greddy. I have a greddy header. I like it. I don't think it was worth the money I spent on it but I like it enough to keep it on the car. I wouldn't mind trying a 4-2-1 header out though. You choice.

I would love to wait for the greddy but it may take one to two months to get it. Plus my engine is getting rebuilt with the howell top and bottom end kit along with head porting and underdrive pulley and AFC so I dont want to have to take the manifold off again to put a header on if I can help it.

I would advise against any porting unless youre going for lots of boost, nitrous or some crazy n/a setup that would absolutely demand it. HRC has made 600hp on a stock head, so apparently its not a bottleneck. Opening up the ports drastically will decrease the velocity of air in the engine and result in a loss of power, along with a bad idle.

its not going to be a drastic porting though. It will be a very mild porting.
