Well I am starting to get damn upset with Howell they have been telling me for 2 weeks now that my rods and pistons are on back order and should be in any day. Well any day was about 2 weeks ago, and now I am starting to look at the internals from Hahn. For those who have got them do I need any other things besides the pistons, rods, and rings. Because the Howell kit has bearings, oilpan gasket, rear main seal, and oil pump. Are these necisarry or can I do with my stock ones. I already bought a MLS head gasket, Valve cover gasket, and Timing belt. Will I be ok with what you get from Hahn and what I have alrady bought or do I need other things?

its always better to change it but you dont need to...depends how many miles and the condition of those parts...

The parts from HRC are a bit more expensive due top the Crower rods they include.

YES, you have to buy a new rear main. The oil pump you can get away without, but they're only $100 and the pump from Howell is just a "stock replacement." The oil pan gasket is reusable.

You'll need the o-ring for the oil pump pickup, as well as the seals for the oil filter adapter.

I would just wait for howell to get the stuf in. Good things come to those who wait. I have been waiting for 5 weeks to get my car back. Engine should be going back in friday though!!

Hey thanks for the good info on the seals and what not. I know the Howell kit is good but I have been with out the car for a month now and it is killing me not to be racing it. I will wait a little bit longer on the Howell kit but I don't know how much longer I can take it.

been without it a month? try since begining of march since i haven't had mine. engine is in the shop though now and will be in sometime before july

I feel for ya- I've been down since March. Three months now :'(
Once I finally scraped together the money for the rebuild, it took a few weeks to get the parts from Howell. My pistons were backordered too. Finally got them though.
Can't wait just to DRIVE the damn thing, I mean, I'm gonna get all excited going to the grocery store at this point.

I'm still waiting on mine. And car needs to be done by end of month so I can go back to work.
