24325, WTF???? what would be the most common reason for CEL 43?
Posted by tim97rs, Jun-02-02 03:04 AM
I know it has something to do with my "oh so good deal" regrinds.
if the rule of thumb for lash/cam pre-load on our cars is .015-.030, then i had to shim upwards of .100-.120 on the exhaust side to get in that range. I think its probably low compression from to much exhaust shiming, but i dont know yet. anyother ideas? iread the cel code list also...
thanks

43 is a ignition code. It has to do with plugs, wires, coil or something of that sort.

43 is also for multiple cylinder misfire. I get that all the time at idle only in my car with a ported and milled head. It should be normal since you have cams. The computer freaks out when the idle gets really rough sometimes.

I don't get it with the rough idle from my cams, I get it because I don't have a tach adapter on my MSD. I have also had it from bad wires or plugs.

OH really? When you had bad plugs or wires did you get the code all the time? I tried swapping back to stock wires and its the same.

I won't get the code for a while. But then once in a while when I'm sitting at a light and the idle is really rough (can feel the whole car shake), I'll get the CEL flashing at me (and then I check and its always code 43). But then after that I'll drive around without the code going off again unless the idle gets really rough again. My idle gets better if I turn on the A/C too because the RPM's go higher and it smooths it out better.
