I had my belt all three belts (Acc, Alt, Timing) replaced at 60K miles. Well, my Acc Belt split in one section so I had to get it replaced. Got it replaced, they botched the job and put it on wrong. It is riding the edge of the wheel on the bottom of the engine. It's starting to fray now. I'm going to take it back and get it replaced.

I sick on this though. Does anybody have any nice instuctions on how to change the belt by myself. I'm pretty handy, do all my maintenence myself except belts because I don't want to screw it up. Thanks for your help.

Replacing the belts is one of the easiest things to do on the next to changing your plugs. If you have a chiltons guide great follow the directions if you don't have the book spend $15.00 and save your selve some head aches from taking your car to the shop. The simple way to change the belt is to lossen the pullies, two bolts for each acc (one on top and one on the bottom). the top bolt adjusts the angle of the acc and the bottom bolt is the pivot point. For the power steering and a/c you have a 3rd pully to control tension. To remove the the power steering belt just loosen the power steering pump. top acc. front end of the engine/car. You can remove the belt now with out any other adjustment. Put the new belt on, get a buddy to hold the pump tight against the belt, tighten the bolts and adjust the tension pully until the belt is tight but has a little give when pressing between two pullies. This is the way i change belts and i have not had any problems.
