2388, pvc cai installed Posted by eclipticrider, May-25-01 11:58 AM
i managed to put on my home made cold air intake last weekend. it really does work well. i bought a $10 cone air filter from auto zone. i'm painting it this weekend, it's looking verry nice.
what more can you ask for, + in hp, minimal - in $, + in sound, + in looks.
i'm verry pleased.

could u get some pics? I have thought of some crazy CAI ideas. I thought this way, piping with a filter on the passenger side behind the side vent, connect it to more piping that runs through the bumper, connect a connector and add a filter on the driver side, then run piping to the TB. Dual CAI. Anyone tried this? Or simpler, piping with a T connector with 2 filters on 1 side. Thought the other way would be like a Ram Air effect.

personally i'd buy an aftermarket one. i'd hate to pop my hood to show my horses and someone see's some ghetto-looking $h!t. i understand some people are tight on money but if you're gonna do something do it right. you know the old saying "if ya wanna play, you're gonna pay".

agreed, agreed, nice going Chris. so why you getting the iceman instead of an aem CAI ??? any reason ? i am either going to get an AEM or get the extension for mine. dont know which one yet but i like the idea of getting a water bypass. also i may be ghetto and jerry-rig a bypass into my injen intake.

Aftermarket doesnt make a dual cold air intake. I would like to make one too, i figure the more ways of forcing cold air into the engine, the faster you go.
Man, how would I go about creating an intake like this.

i think this a verry good idea, let's brain storm on this. i'll go out to my car today and try and scetch some sort of design. who know this could be just the thing to do.
and i'm not embarrased to show it off, cause it looks pretty damn good, i put 3 coats of 1500 temp resistant paint, to coats of metal flake red, and 2 coats of hight gloss clear coat.
and yes there is a deffinate power gain, i've been driving it for one week now and i've experienced a gain in power. it also makes a great sound.and just yester day i got my gs-t muffleron,so the combo sounds great. and a real increase in power
i'll be posting pics soon a i get them developed

2397, ghetto super air itake system(BOV might be required ) Posted by klipzracer, May-27-01 04:20 AM
i've been thinking of a design for a while but haven't implemented it yet. use the huge middle hole in the front of the bumper to act as an air scoop and mold some kind of tunnel to connect just behind your air filter. kindo look like this.
___| |___ | | | | | / \ | | |filter | | | |element| | ___| --------- | __/ | __/ __ / ____/ __/ | / _/ | | ___/ _/ | \ | __/ / \___________|________________/_________________/
passenger middle hole driver's side side (center of bumper)
hey don't laugh! this ain't no damn photoshop, beeyotch!!!! and in order to do this you factory bumper guys would have to remove you're plastic piece that's in front of the radiator. Let me know how this comes out. The other day I was at a friends house ad he had a video he d/l'ed off the net that was the engine bay of a camaro with a custom metal intake that had been welded to have two intakes. I think we could do this too.

anything can be accomplished with enough perserverence,,,,,,,......and mad $$$$
but this would mostly take perserverence.
i haven't had the time to look and think of how to do this yet.
i just moved here in fl a little less than 2 months ago. and the drive way i've been parking in is all sand i've almost got stuck a few times. so i've been putting down mulch in my drive way all day.
hopefully i'll have some time after the bbq on memorial day, to take a good look and brain storm.
i'll have the pics of my car online this thrs. :)
