I was leafing through moroso's catalog the other day and saw that they offer an oil pan for the neon. Knowing that we share the same block, i was curious ... That should fit right? if not, why not? I was gonna call them when i get off work today, but figured i'd check with you guys first.... Thanks!

i saw it too. just from looking at it, it doesn't look the same. could be wring though. they make one for the GST. i'm sure if it was the same they would list it for both cars. the pans come with built in ports for oil temp line and oil return line for turbos, so if you find out let us know.

It doesn't fit. not even close. Don't even waste your time..

Just curious why it doesn't fit. Is it a problem with interfering with the exhaust (my hunch), or the crossmember? just wonderin. would be cool to have.

Both, i believe. The Neon undercarriage is different from ours.

So do you know of anyone else that makes an aftermarket oil pan for our cars? I've looked but have had trouble finding one for the 420A

There isn't a bolt on oil pan for our cars yet. I don't think that there is enough interest for them to make one unfortunately.

yeah to most companies we're just redheaded step children :P But think of it dude the intake and exhuast are on different sides of the engine compared to ours. Haha I have trouble trying to get crap to clear my oil pan :(

...the blocks are damn near identical except that they bolt up in different places. The center I beam is in the way.

Moroso really pissed me off. Tell me its not a slap in the face to already have the basic gasket mated surface from the neon and STILL they release an oil pan for GST's which make up just 10% of 2G DSMs. We've been bitching for one for years now and dont have sh*t. I have yet to hear a 4G63 guy yearn for an oil pan. We need the god damn turbo drain port and we are the ones frying bearings!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope they sell 3 GST oil pans.

(even the little dinky companies are starting to realize we are more of the aftermarket for 2Gs than the 4G63 now but I guess thats what happens when Dinosour V8 companies try to jump in the import game. Always a step behind).

Are you guys having the same right hand turn problems? When I took a right turn REALLY HARD my oil light came on.

I know an oil pan would fix this problem.

Never had that problem. Did you check your oil level after; was it ok?
