23378, got the test pipe on today Posted by rfpunch, May-19-02 02:34 PM
First of all, if you are boosted, and dont have emissions testing, this mod is a MUST! 6-7 psi feels how 9psi used to feel. it was a real bitch getting the cat off. the bolts were rusted to the flanges. and they didnt send any gaskets with the test pipe so my car kinda sounds like ass til i hit boost. i can live with it til this weekend when i can put some new ones on. oh yeah, no check engine light either.

I got a test pipe. Man, it is TOO loud. If you find any way to quiet it, please let me know, it's so annoying.

Will it still be loud even with a turbo kit in??? I've noticed that my Borla isn't as loud anymore once the kit was in. Cops, in Tampa, nowadays are notorious for giving tickets left and right for sound violation.

I'm looking on the site and there are 2 pipes...one for a turbo (Eclipse T/B) and one for a non-turbo...aren't they the same thing tho? I want a quicker spool up and I think this might do it. Did you notice a faster spool? No check engine light? No decrease in gas mileage? As far as loudness goes I already have 2 resonantors from my custom exhaust.

Don't qoute me on this, but I believe that the cat. of a turbo model is slightly at an angle. I guess I'll be getting this pipe sometime REALLY soon. Thanks!!!!!

i'm thinking of going to a hardware store and getting a pipe that long and some fittings for the ends to get welded on, shouldn't be too hard
