23098, My car is bogging down

When it is at idle and I punch the gas the car sputters and finaly gets to about 2 on the tach and revs fine. And sometimes when I downshift I can hear a really loud pop or bang in my exhaust piping. It sounds like backfire in my piping. What can I do to take care of this? It's getting really annoying. tia

that is the exact thing that happened to me last weekend...change your spark plugs and wires. it will fix the problem for sure. ;)

Ok i'll try that. I have had my car for 16,000 miles and havent changed the plugs yet. I've been wanting to though. thanks
