What does white exhaust mean? I've heard it means I have a bad cat. Also just for future reference what color is oil burning? Blue or black? Thanks a lot guys.

Oil burning is blue. White exhaust is normal as far as I know, thats just condensation.

White exhaust is normal if it is cold out, but if it does it all the time you have a coolant leak.....probobly head gasket.

White on start up can be fine, but if it persists I would start watching your coolan tlevel, white exhaust is the color coolant burns.

From the top of my head:

White smoke - usually just water/moisture condensation in the exhaust, but only in the cold or in the morning. It shouldn't be a persistent white smoke though.

Blue smoke - oil burning. You might have oil leaking down from a worn out headgasket. Too much, persistent, blue smoke is a bad sign--you might have worn piston rings, and/or headgasket.

Black smoke - running too rich, especially, when you can see black powder shooting from the exhaust. This is probably caused from having bigger injectors, fuel pump, or fuel pressure for your particular application.
