I cant find a good place to mount my Crane. Does anyone have pics of where they mounted their MSD or Crane??

I had my MSD DIS-2 install professionally. They put it in the Glove box. Perfect it and it wasn't to hot. Since there's no heat from the engine near it.

And if I ever wanted I can just leave the Glove box open.

I installed mine where the passengers feet would be, same with the Accel DFI, good location, easy access to route everything, etc...

mine is under the passangers seat, and my dfi is behind the center consoul

Mine sits where the stock air box used to be. I don't know if that would work with the turbo, but it clears my CAI with plenty of room.

Does it matter if its in the engine bay?

It should be fine in the engine bay.

I'll have a pic on my homepage this weekend. It's okay to mount the ignition in the engine bay, as long as it's away from excess heat and moisture. The ignition unit is sealed, but it should be mounted anywhere that water can often splash on it, like closer to the ground. I mounted my Crane ignition right where the oem air intake box used to be. It's a very tight fit, but it'll fit there. Or, if you have or plan to purchase a dry-cell car battery, it's a lot smaller in size, so you could also mount the ignition box, vertically, beside the factory ecu. That's what I plan to do with mine later.

i have ignition next to my ecu very tight fit but it does not move.. and i got my tach adapter where the elbow is under the fuse box..

I put mine under the main fuse box. if you remove teh stock air piping under the fuse box it fits perfectly. Plus you have the air going across it from where the stock intake drew air in. I mounted the tach adapters under there as well.

I've done the exact same thing Matt, above, said. Mounted it where the stock air box was and rested the tach adapter in the open area underneath the fuse box. Gets good airflow considering that is where the stock airbox intakes air from. Here's a pic....

Actually mine is turned parallel to the ground and mounted below the fuse box. It's pretty well hidden, but still ventilated plenty.

Yeah that's where mine is, except I mounted it at an angle so you can get to the stage settings(in case I decide to use them). I just mounted my tach adapters inder the bumper. There is a piece of sheet metal that sticks down, next to the horn, with holes already in it. Two of then happened to be perfectly spaced to mount the tach adapters, one on each side. I have pictures, but I need to finish the roll of film first.

But with a turbo kit above stage one this won't work, that's were the intercooler piping runs. If you don't have cruise control, possibly on the firewall on the passenger side, or if you've relocated the battery to the trunk, that spot would work. Otherwise, you are left with inside the car.

It works well even with the turbo. I am thinking about moving though. I like where Patrick has it mounted and I may do the same thing.

Brynden, how do you have CAI along with turbo. I was under the impression that would not work. Apparently it does. What kind of advantages does that have? Same as a normal CAI? Sorry to change subject.

As far as I know I think it will help. It will help with getting cool air into the turbo. The only bad part is if it rains, its not like a normal CAI, the turbo is a big vacuum and WILL suck water into it. So I am thinking about taking it off.

Yeah, that would suck getting water pulled in. It is unique, that's for sure.

if you can see behind the fuel cooler its down low I put the battery in the trunk. Actually the ign is mounted on the stock batt mount. I cut it in half and welded a plate to match the size of the ign. Worked out great. late mike
