22580, exhaust noise Posted by fatchance, May-07-02 07:24 PM
I can hear a series of 'pops' coming from my exhaust pie when I accelerate quickly(sometimes), or rev the engine to scare whichever drunken brother I am driving home(whenever I go above 5500rpm). What could be causing this, how bad can it damage my car, and how much will I need to pay to fix it?

pops like backfires? or pops like the engine is missing and stuttering??
how's the idle?
id check your plugs, and swap em for sum ngk bkr5e-11 and gap em between 0.043 and 0.050
could be your runnin too rich, or your plugs have too big of a gap.. or sumthin else ;-)
id start there tho..

I had the same problem, it happened since one week after I change my cam gear and UDP, is that related? or time to change spark plug..?

might be the plugs. I just got the car after spring break, and with all the school stuff, I haven't had time to learn anything about it. I don't think the cam gears or UDP were changed, so I guess that leaves the plugs.
