it's possible if you do a full on (no emissions shit) race motor.. run quad TB's like they did. actual race header. some serious cams.. 12.5:1 compression, race gas.. and some DAMN good tuning. A stroker/big bore kit would help alot too. I know I can get 250HP or more out of my zetec doing those things.. I don't see any reason why the 420a wouldn't be able to do the same.

I'd be happy with 250hp. 300hp may be stretching it, but you never know.
With a 2.4L swap it would be more likely I say.
Una salus victus. It's not about being invincible, it's about being ready; for anything.

Man if that 6-speed tranny werent soooo expensive I would figure a way to get it in. But yeah, get some 8500rpm tuning on our engines and everything would be good, get to 250 than run so N2O to get 350hp.

22052, RE: 300 HP all motor Posted by babybeclipse, May-02-02 10:40 AM
It's not just peak power that important guys. Thats the best part of NA, Off the line you have more power and right through mid to top end power. No waiting for boost... :P

22053, RE: 300 HP all motor Posted by MuRiX, May-02-02 11:49 AM
Actually you would have less power down low with a 250+hp NA setup vs turbo.

22054, RE: 300 HP all motor Posted by SaberKhan, May-02-02 01:02 PM
Yeah, Chris is right. In order for a small displacement engine to make that kind of power, there has to be alot of revving and some high strung cams. This of course shifts the power band waaaay up. Thats how Honda goes about getting 160hp from 1.6 liters. Wild cams and lots of revs. But, we'd still have alot more torque than a 300HP Honda :D

Were do I get that six speed trans off that Super Touring Stratus?
Never mind. Just found the price tag was 25,000! Almost enough to buy three eclipses :P
I like. Atleast we know 250hp is possible without turblow or nitrous.
|
22056, RE: 300 HP all motor Posted by MuRiX, May-03-02 02:22 AM
Perhaps, but you would have to swap your tranny first. ;)
Oh, for $15k you can buy a sequential 6-speed from Quiafe.

I thought y'all were talking about the n/t Eclipse motor?
If not... :)
I saw some import magazine a while back that had something like a 10 or 11 second Integra. It had an assload of power, but it had five liters of displacement. It was friggin' crazy.

Hey, If this this guy (Tony Shagday) can make 5-600hp and run tens in the quarter mile. Then I can make 300hp and run 13's.
