21956, o2 sensor check help Posted by pn0ymahal, May-01-02 07:23 AM
recently i have been posting in the turbo section since my a/f never hardly goes rich anymore... i got no cel my car runs mostly at .87v or just moves around even at wot! how would i check my front and rear 02 sensor to see if its still good? if its fouled how do i know a little black or alot ? which is more common to go back without a cel? could it be bad without a cel? if my o2 was bad i would run rich not leaner right?

You can have a bad o2 without a cel. Basically, to check it you can use your current gauge or stick a voltmeter on it. If it is cycling at idle it's probably good. If it cycles slowly or not at all, it's bad. There is a heat/resistance test in the Chilton's book I think, but I'm not sure about that.

if one of my o2 is bad wouldn't my a/f be rich or not working at all? if its bad would this cause a leaner reading no matter what even at wot?

i just replaced my front o2 sensor still no rich a/f... i notice on my ob2 program that sensor one goes up and down mostly within the middle not a nice curve... sensor 2 is juat at the bottom chillin going straight at idle moves a 1/2in hehe if i make it =)... if i do get rich its up to 2psi and the lines are at the top going straight, but once i step on it drops down to .87-.90v... sometimes less could my second sensor be bad again?
