Has anyone used this. I an about to replace the clutch in my car, and i don't have enuf money to get a full LSD. I was wondering how good this thing is. I was talking to one of the retailers and he said quite a few of his customers have it and they like it. Just wondering but are there any side effects to using it

I have one. There are no side effect, just it does not work all the time. I know there are two spring strengths in the Phantom Grip itself. Like a 700lb and 1,000lb. Mine I think it the 700lbs springs and my car does not posi all the time :( So I took it into the a mechanic and he's installing some washers to beef up the springs in the Phantom Grip. So I'll let ya know how that works! But if you do order one, make sure it's the 1,000lbs springs ;-)

I've actually heard there are some side effects to the life of the trans. and the spider gears. Plus it's "suppose" to be posi all the time which isn't good for handling on a front wheel drive car. the outside wheel needs to turn faster than the inside to corner the best.

Iheard the same thing about the spider gears but I talked to2 people that have had then since the first came out and theyhave had no porblems do date and they have had their clutches replaced since. But these guys work for the performance shop that sells them so it might just bea lineto get me to buy the product from them.

It's a good alternative if an LSD is out of your budget. Anything that allows the car to more effectively transmit power to both wheels instead of just one is an improvement.

For high HP cars, such as turbo or nitrous, the LSD is a worthy investment, as it also replaces the entire differential. The weak spot on our transaxles is the spider gear pin. Replacing the differential with an LSD corrects this shortcoming by eliminating the stock pin.

"Replacing the differential with an LSD corrects this shortcoming by eliminating the stock pin." Bill when you said that, did you mean the Phantom Grip or the Quafie Full LSD???? Or both??
