alright so i got the front o2 sensor from nopi for $55 but the thing is, the plug isn't right. the plug from the new sensor has four prongs, kinda like a male plug but then the plug its supposed to plug into ALSO has 4 prongs. and i called back nopi but they said thats the only one they carry. so here's my question

can i just cut off the old plug and splice it into the wires from the new sensor? if so is there a certain sequence to go thru or what? there's 4 wires black, white, white, grey. any help is appreciated since i'd rather do this if i can instead of getting a new sensor from satan for $125. thanks.

yep, you can splice the wires with no problem, thats what i had to do with my new o2 sensor, it didn't come with any plug on the end, just bare wire ends. Connect the black to black, the grey to grey. Be sure now to have the new plug lined up just as the old one, as far as the positioning of the wiring goes. Take note of one of the white wires, and which wire is next to it. Either it will be a black, or a grey. Now cut the one white wire, and match up the location on the new sensor to its white wire. See what i mean? The 2 white wires are NOT interchangeable, so be sure to connect the white wires to the correct ones. Just double check the wire layout and take note of what color wire is next to the one you are splicing, to help match up the proper white wires and not mix them up..

Actually, the two white wires ARE interchangeable. I am pretty sure of it because I found it online that polarity doesn't matter on those wires. It's for the heater. If polarity mattered, I think they would at least make one of the wires striped to distinguish the two. I just randomly spliced my white wires and it works fine still. Mine was from NOPI also and its the NTK with the weird plug that doesn't fit.

Are you talking about the O2 sensor on the exhaust pipe right after the catalatic converter? I broke mine while installing my new exhaust and need to get a new one.. but AutoZone wanted $90.

Man that's weird.. I just replaced mine last night.. I had to do the splicing too.. Runs great again.

alright cool thanks...yeah after checking the old sensor, i saw that the wires were the same color so i figured it'd be easy. yeah so i wonder why the hell the plug is different on these NTK ones? whatever tho and no we're talking about the sensor on the bottom of the header.
