Ok there is a noise in my egine compartment. Isn't there when in park or neutral. Any other it's there. Sounds kinda like a pulley or something. The clutch on my a/c compressor is out. Could the be the noise. Also if i want to take the compressor off the belt what size belt do i use or is the compressor its own belt. One more thing whats the transmission number on a 95 talon esi a/t w/ overdrive???

The noise might be coming from the tensioner pulley inside the time belt area. I just replaced mine last weekend - prior to that it started making a real funny noise - which I thought was one of the belts, but it wasnt. The only way to check for this problem is to take off all the accecories, pull off the engine mount, and then the mount which is bolted to the engine( refer to the step by step proccess for changing the timing belt - if you have any problems ). Once all that is done you have a clear veiw of the tensioners ( both the tensioner pulley and the idler ) you be able to tell right away if the tensioner pulley i bad - or if the idler is bad. Just thought I would drop you some info.

whats the belt size i would need to remove the a/c but leave powersteering the sound doesn't come from the timing pulley area it more toward the powersteering, and a/c. Plus if it was the timing pulleys woudln't make the noise all the time instead of only when in gear.

actually, when the tensioners started to go bad with mine - all the noise seemed to be coming from either the a/c or p.s pumps- which is what is seems, i ended up replacing both those parts too. just to find out it was the tensioners - and they will constently make a noise because the engine is always running - and thats what the belt is driven off of, thus the tensioners are always moving - because the are against the timing belt.
