21395, Update on no spark problem.

Okay. after further checking the wiring harness I found that a group of wires found there way down to the cv axle and cut one in half and exposed and some what flattend the two white wires that lead into the altenator. My dad who is an electrician repaird that and we tried the engine again. Still no spark Tomorrow Im yanking the timing cover to see if the bealt skipped a tooth. Now the only error code i get is a 32 which is EGR valve but that has nothing to do with spark. Another thing is even while turning the engine over, The plug that goes into the coil receives no voltage.
So here are some questions.
1. How accurate are the PCM error codes?
2. Does any one have the Electrical Trouble shooting part of the mitsubishi Eclipse shop manual (section 13-A)?

if i were yo i'd check over that wiring problem you had. that could be alot worse. then i would check the fuse box ubnder the hood to see if your ALT fuse is still workin. has the car ever run right? maybe there battery was installed wrong.

thats the thing though. every wire except for those have continuity. and now those wires have continuity. no fuses are blown. We have replaced the coil with a new one. and teh cam and crank sensors with used ones. After the timing gear inspection imgoing to DaytonaBeach Mitsu and buying brand new cam and crank sensors.

have you checked the ASD relay here is a description of what it does

MFI RELAY (Automatic Shut Down)
The MFI relay (automatic shut down relay) supplies
battery voltage to the fuel injectors, electronic ignition
coil, generator, and the heating elements in
the oxygen sensors.
The PCM controls the relay by switching the ground
path for the solenoid side of the relay on and off.
The PCM turns the ground path off when the ignition
switch is in the Off position. When the ignition switch
is in the On or Crank position, the PCM monitors
the crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position
sensor signals to determine engine speed and ignition
timing (coil dwell). If the PCM does not receive
the crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position
sensor signals when the ignition switch is in the
Run position, it will de-energize the MFI relay.
Along with the fuel pump relay, the MFI relay attaches
to a bracket on the drivers side of the dash
panel.

thanks for the info. never knew about that. how would you go about testing it?

well its a relay, ask your dad, basically apply voltage to the + and - and see if the state of the relay is changing. your dad will know

I am having the same problem and i have replaced those relays two times in hopes that they were bad and they're not. I'm clueless as to what the problem is. I too have a 95 eclipse and if i'm not mistaken, there are a few 95's that are have this same problem. There's one here too at a shop with the same situation. So hopefully someone will get the problem straightened out and share! Good luck.
