HELL YEAH. the fear of the results were finally outweighed w/ the need to do a compression test, and i don't think it couldof went better. for those who don't know, i've got a '98 eclipse w/ 49k miles, a year of which was under a 75 shot nitro system, and the last 5 months have been spent w/ an intercooled turbo system (ranging from 3-9ish pounds of boost, i try my hardest to keep it under 8). but yeah, I"M HAPPY.

I am quite surprised. ThunderRS ran like 15lbs or some crazy number on stock pistons for a long time.

no sht, i thought i was doing it wrong at first b/c the numbers were almost better than stock. anyone who says the 420a isn't what it's all cracked up to be, IM me and i'll have a few words for ya

just did mine today, and got 190-195 all across the board :). i was scared to do the test (questionable tuning, ive overboosted so many times, etc), but happy w/ the results.

I did mine 4 days ago. 160 155 55 160. =] Piston #3 is gone. lol When it happened, I didnt lose any power what so ever but a ton of white smoke came shooting out the back my oil pressure dropped like hell. My #3 cylinder piston ring must be completely gone because it filled the little RRE catchcan with 4 quarts of oil REAL fast. Yes, I have a mes. =/

nice! did mine not too long ago and it was 200/200/200/200.

you guys got me all wanting to do a compression test just for the hell of it. my question then is.. since our spark plugs are barried in the valve cover.. what kinda compression tester did you use to get down there?

A long one Breezio! ;-) I got mine at Autozone for like $25 and it has a 1 ft hose on it.

is it the screw in kind? (where you need specific thread style per car) or a rubber 'plug' in one? my dad has both kinds. but I thought the threaded ones were specific to individual vehicles... ?

mine was threaded, but it wasn't for any specific car, i just got what they had at the discount auto parts and it worked just fine.

Mine had 2 different threads on it and works fine.

mine threaded right in.. hehe

The spark plug thread is a standard thread so you don't need a lot of adapters on the tester.
