Can anyone recommend a really good oil filter. I know K&N makes them now. How are they compared to say fram, etc? I'm switching from regular to the royal purple synthetic and need a really good filter. TIA

a filter is a filter is a filter. just change them often.

I like bosch filters myself, either that or mobil 1 should be fine for a higher quality filter

I use the mobile one filter, if you change the oil every 3-4k your oil will still be fairly clean. I won't use anything else. The downside is that their like 12 bucks.

There was a huge test done on oil filters, i wish i still had the
link, but long story short.. Mobil 1 is the best you can buy. They
work for 7,000 miles under any conditions, and are manufactured completely
differently than any other filters. I only use Mobil 1 on my car.

Believe it or not some filters are better than others. I use nothing but the Puralator PURE 1 Filters. (PL14670) Look around a little better and you will find that PURE 1 is the best oil filter according to filtration tests. ;-)

I bet the PURE 1 and the MOBIL 1 are the same filter. hehe. puralator probably makes the filters for mobil, since mobil is an oil company and not a filter company.

They are different. I personalyl prefer Purolator pure 1 filters and use them in every vehicle i work on. Molil 1 makes a good second 'though.
