Will using windo weld on the side motor mounts help? I already got the inserts for the front and back but making the sides stiff help?

Yeah, I'd like to get some comments on this too, cause I would think it would help keep the engine a little bit sturdier... but most of the twisting is front and back in a fwd... and what sealer are we looking for?

Where can you buy windo weld? I called autozone and advanced and summit and all dont even know what i'm taliking about. A place to buy would be nice with a part number.

My local Checker auto parts store had it. It was about $10, i havent done it yet because someone in my local group mentioned you need a lot of down time. I was thinking of finding some in a junkyard and filling those, so i can just put them in when they are dry.

Try your local autoglass shop. Its called urathane, and all of them use this to install windshields. The fast cure stuff hardens in several hours...

My local Kragens (checkers and schucks in various other places of the country) had that stuff. It's 3M Window Weld and it costs $9.99 It was in the section where all the glue, thread lockers, anti-seize was. I haven't done it yet because I'm too freakin poor to try it out.

But like super20G said up there most of the twisting is front and back in out cars. I've never seen the engine go side to side. at least in a FF anyway.

My PS pulley gouged the coolant tank once. I was pushing it pretty friggin hard, but it happened.

I found some window weld and just got dun with both side mounts. I used the hole bottle of weld as well.

And if you want to do this the driverside mount is hell to get off. took me like 2 hours. I just a problem of sliding out the mount.

I let it dry for 3 hours in-between coats, but only made 3 coats on each. I'm going to let them dry for 2 days before install.

I dont know if this is going to help at all but what I think is when the engine shakes it goes up and down, causing all 4 mounts to move. Just the poly inserts works well, but instead of a solid front, I thought this would be better.

I'll let everyone know how it goes. I'm also going to the track on saturday if it dont rain.

Got done with the install. They worked out great. My engine vibrates like a muthor.

SO is it worth the effort to do the sides? I did the NRG inserts in the front and rear and it was a night and day difference.

It just made it stiffer. I feel it was worth the time. but i like finding stuff to do to my car.

I found it at a local shop that sell car paint and supplies. I called like 10 places and finally found it. It was $10. Good luck finding it.
