1968, What do i have to take off to get to my cam gears... Posted by TrishasTalon, May-16-01 05:34 AM
I was thinking about changing my cam gears cause mine are all rusty and nasty looking... But how do i take the cover off or can i take it off? and what do i have to remove to take it off...It looks to time consuming for replacing the cam gears or even changing my timing belt.. Yea bro it is time comsuming you got to take the timming belt off to get to it than the bolts holding the cam gears are hella tight it is a long process ( )

Obviously tommyboy didn't see the pictures or he never would have said "bro"
Trish, it'll be a pain the crank pulley has to come off. then the cover detention timing belt etc. Timing belt off then you can unbolt the cam gears. And please don't try to break free the cam gear bolt with the timing belt off. do it while there is still tension on the gears. If you feel like doing this yourself. It's a big job, with not a lot of room to work.
