I am just beginning to experience starting problems, after 370cc injectors and an S-AFC were installed. Initially (the first crank) the engine turns, but my car wouldn't start. However, the car will start fine at the second cranking. I'm thinking that, initially, the FPR haven't built up pressure at the first cranking, resulting in hard starts. What do you guys think that couldd cause this to happen?

Also, after the car starts and it's idling, the reading on the A/F meter will start from lean, then it will slowly build up to about 3/4 rich--that's when my car idles erratically, almost and sometimes, cutting off. Is this normal? What could cause this to occur? Is it my @idle fuel pressure (30 psi), or could it be that my lo throttle setting on my AFC is still too rich? At 1K, 2K rpm's, it's -13%; at 3K, -12%.

Any opinions? Sorry for so many questions.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? What do you read when starting?

What type of fuel pump are you running? Mine would start hard sometimes with the Walbro 255 on a low tank.

Play with your AFC settings. It never hurts. And, at those RPMs, what can you really hurt, anyway?

I was told by the mechanic that installed my turbo kit that fuel pressure at idle is set at 30 psi; I don't know what it is at startup. As for the FPR, I got HRC's, and it's pushed by 190 lph
buschur in-tank pump. I'm still saving up to get a fuel pressure gauge ($200!)

is this a turbo car....hahn turbo.?? if so then you need about 45-57 at idle and 85-95 a five pounds of boost if it is a n/t car i have heard that you could look up this manual here for the n/t eclipse 420a motor.

It's true that @idle fuel pressure for the Hahn system is 45-57 psi. However, I've got 370cc injectors, which is almost doubles our n/t stock injectors. Therefore, @idle fuel pressure and under boost fuel pressure will be a lot less. I could be wrong. I appreciate the input though. Later.
