Well first let me say that my crank threads are ok and it was just the bolt that was messed up so it's all good now. one of the fuel injectors was not all the way in and you could hear the air go passed it. i tried to get it back in without taking the intake manifold off again. my friend said it'd be ok till saturday. well i had everything back together and started the car and pulled it out of the bay. well i listened to where the injector was and didn't hear the whistle so i went to check it and when i pushed on it the car died. we checked the compression and i had none. so i've got a few things to try. any opinions. please help me out asap.

buy a new comp tester guage... no compression, i never heard of that...

well it's like about nothing. it's like 20-50 or something like that. i didn't see the compression tester gauge. my friend did it in the #1 & 4 spark plug well. it's not enough to start. it doesn't even try to turn over. it just hums. i think it might be a few things:
1. the timing belt broke so it's doing nothing.
2. i've got bent valves
3. the timing is off
4. it's my starter
5. it's something to do with my injectors

shit chris that sucks bro, if you need any help or someone to mess around with your car let me know and ill drive out there, though im no mr fix it im still learning. if you did want to try another comp guage though i have one.

and if you read the pits, i might be getting this full 420a motor with tranny since i want to swap for a great price

WAIT A MIN... if your car won't even turn over, it definatly won't get a comp reading (cause you have to turn it over several times to get an accurate reading).. but compression has nothing to do with wether your starter will turn the car over or not. You have some kind of electrical problem at the moment. starter is bad.. or battery is bad.. or wires and connections from the battery to the starter are bad.. that's about the only things it could be. well I suppose there is one other thing it could be (but very unlikly) is that something is mechanically keeping the starter from turning the motor over, but that's pretty unlikly cause the starter is pretty damn powerful, and it'd take more then a couple valves to keep it from turning over the engine.

i was thinking it was the starter but it's a couple of things. what i was thinking was that i messed up the wires around the injectors cause i didn't hear the whistling sound that it was making so i went to check it. if i had the money, i was gonna get the 1MM steel valves from RRE. i wish i could find out what the problem is. hey evan. i'll be up there tomorrow, at whiting field hobby shop, if you can find it you can stop by. i'll be there from 8-6.

ok well today is Saturday the 6th and i have found out that it's not the valves(oh yeah) so we believe its just the timing being off or the belt needs to be replaced cause it's slipping. so back into the engine i go for round 2. and it's not the starter cause it's still good

back again with an update. everything is fine. nothing is messed up or anything like that. i just don't have any compression at all. i mean zip, nada, none, zero. we have no clue what it is cause everything is in it's spot. now what's odd is that the valves are opening at the same time. pretty weird with that one. what can it be?


Edit: Anyone know where i can get a cam for a good price. cause the dowl is broken on it and that's why i am no longer getting compression.

well if your valves are all opened at the wrong time than your timing is off. did you line up the cam gears right?

nope. i know what it is. if you look at the end of you cam where the cam gear goes, there is a little metal dowel that sticks out. that broke and the cam flipped over to make the intake and exhaust valves open at the same time. i solved the problem and mystery. now it's time to get a new dowel to put in and it's done.......finally.....well not yet

Whats the fuel pressure at crank? Never leave out bad fuel pumps or anything related to fuel delivery and starting the car. Just another suggestion.

ok. read what i am typing. i found the problem. it is the little metal dowel that sticks out of the cam that hold the cam gear in it's spot. i fixed the problem. it was nothing to do with anything else but compression. the car is running right now. everything is fine. thanks to everyone for their help

well it's off to get a new head and new cams cause the guy who did the head didn't get all the beads out of the head and that's why the cam stopped and the dowel broke. for $200 you'd expect it to be like new but guess that's what i get for having some red neck do it. sorry guys for all the frag i was giving. just really irritated about it now cause it's been 4 weeks since i took my car about. i am having withdraw.
