do this: go to www.thepartstrader.com and look under DSM stock parts. If you are interested e-mail me at ABaines78@hotmail.com and I can hook you up with someone that was going to sell me one of a 96' GS-T (or X, I can't remember), before I found a better deal.
Hope that helps.

call around to all the performance shops in your area. i went to alamo auto sports here in the dfw area, and they just gave me one, they said they usually just throw away 4-5 a month.

where is aalamo located??
i've heard that the diameter of the gs-t exhaust is larger thant he rs and thats the only difference. is this true?? are there any other differences??
and wouldn't it be better to get the whole exhaust, instead of welding, i can just bolt it on right?? this is just what i've heard, but i don't know.....
are you serious that they thow 4-5 away a month, thats allot....thats 48 - 60 a year, thats allot of car exhausts

1937, NO!! Posted by Skrilla, May-16-01 02:30 PM
the diameter is the SAME. All you need to do is purchase the GS-T muffler - AND - its all a bolt on affair. The easiest mod you can do

Unless like me you don't getthe whole rear section and just the muffler. Then you just have to take it and get it welded on.
The only thing I question is... is the resonator the same? or different? Same piping diameter, but is the resonator different? I've heard that it's quieter if you put on a whole cat back compaired to just the rear section... or am I talking out my @$$ again?

hey thanks for clearing that up for me. i've decided to go w/ the rear section of the gs-t exhaust......
now my only problem is where i can find one, i'll probbly call some of the speed shops around here.
thanks again guys....
could you go a little more in depth about the pully thing, i've got no idea what this does.
thanks for putting up with me so far, i've got a lot more questions coming in the future.
thanks again

the underdrive pulley does exactly what it says....it underdrives accessories that dont need that much drive to get their jobs done. for example it will underdrive the AC, and alternator. they still get the job done but as far as the performace gain...heck you know WTF is up with it. i rode in a friends GS that had the AFX ud pulley from howell and i was like DAMN. i mean from mine to his was a big diff and he has an auto also. we used to race and it was always close. now he has teh edge on me. i need to hurry up and get mine installed but i am saving for my new level 10 tranny. hehehehe good luck to ya man

the gs-t cat back has an extra resinator so it would infact be a little quieter if you get the full cat back. i have just the rear section tho and its not very loud. little lower and louder than stock
aem cai pacesetter headers gs-t exhaust red altezzas rims, tires, and a bunch of other little stuff....that list is way too short....more will come!

Thanks js99rs. I thought there was something. Now I know to not recommend the whole cat back. Because I like the little extra deep tone it gave my exhaust. It is really good for highway and not being too loud. But I don't want to be that quiet. It's just enough to make a difference.

Wouldn't quieter = more restriction? My simple mind equates resonator with evil. :-) -=B-=
