19129, TPS Adjustment Posted by 992gnt, Apr-02-02 02:12 AM
Anyone know how to adjust the TPS sensor? Mine reads 4.5% closed and 79.1% WOT on the car. Off the car ti reads 0% to 99.9%. Doesn't look very adjustable though. It does ohm out ok, so I don't think it's bad, but I can't get it to read 0% or 100% on the car.

I can't help you with the TPS sensor, but I wanted to comment on your GS.......all I can say is: DAMN!!!! Sweet ride. Love the clean wholesome look. I have never seen those rims before on an eclipse and now I want them......Love your FMIC. Enough with the brown nosing.....Have you dynoed your car? Good luck.

Thanks, it's been a lot of work over the last 3 months. No dyno sheets yet, but hopefully some track time is in the not-to distant future. If I ever get my tps fixed anyway. :7

So you almost get 100% with the car off? but not close on? You can slightly rotate the TPS on the throttle plate by loosening the torx screws that hold it on and rotate it. So you can rotate a few degrees either way.
I would make sure that the throttle plate is opening all the way.
Try disconnection neg battery terminal and resetting ECU.
And then replacing the TPS because I can't think of anything else...
Una salus victus. It's not about being invincible, it's about being ready; for anything.

I bet there is not much you can do with it, the software your using probably considers fully open 5vdc from the tps and ours the max is about 4.5v and the same for closed it will go down to like .7-1vdc but your software prob considers 0vdc closed all the way. There isn't much you can do unless the software has like a zeroing (tare) setting so you can adjust saying that 4.5=100% or something.

How are you getting the readings? S-AFC? If so, you will need to calibrate the afc. With the car off but AFC on hold the gas pedal too the floor. The Throttle position will slowly rise to 100%. Same thing happened to me. The TPS will always sway (has more turn) past as far as your throttle plate can open and close.

The readings are from the Calmap software AND the datalogger software. The datalogger readings are even worse (12.5% - 74.1%).

yeah there has to be some zeroing adjustment or something like he was saying with the afc
