I made a post a while back about the power differences between an AEM cai and a short ram. Well, yesterday I finally retired my near 4 year old Tenzo short ram that had a 3 inch crack in the side and was caved in from the battery post, and a heavily dented filter. On with the shiny blue AEM cai and a huge, pretty blue Matrix filter. Wow. The difference is like night and day. I cant believe I've been running on that crappy short ram all this time. Maybe its just cause my intake was damaged badly, or something, but the power gain I felt was well worth any cost. Then at around 10pm, the temp dropped down to the mid/low 50's. Sweet :D Now I'm ready for the Greddy header, honed intake manifold and bored TB. My solid motor mount should be on its way right about now. May hit the track again soon :)

I have the AEM CAI and I cut it into two pieces to have it with the water bypass valve. On the highway it makes a huge difference having the CAI setup, but just playing around with it the other day I took the bypass valve off and just put my filter there instead as a short ram setup, and I realized that the car is more responsive with the short ram. Not as good on the highway, but from light to light it was pretty good. I don't know if it is supposed to be like that, but I was just letting you know my results from this experiment.....Good Luck.
