19115, NGK plugs and wires...(maintence related) Posted by eclipsekaiser, Apr-01-02 04:42 PM
God damn, the difference in the response of the car with fresh set of plugs and wires.
For those of you that are still running on 6e-11 and is turbo, please do yourself a favor and swap it out for a set of 7e-11 and gap to 0.035" (HRC recommendation)
Upon inspection of my old 6e-11s, I notice that cylinder 1 and 4 run the hottest due to the fact that the tip of the plugs are slightly white. 2 and 3 are okay for the milage of the car (20k NA + 380 miles turboed) at slightly blacked around the first 4 threads. Not running rich judging by the look.
the factory plug wires are still in magnificent shape dispite 54K miles on them. Nothign is rusted on the inside, and the resistance is good and consistent through out. I have to hand it to these Mopar wires...Good shit! Probably didn't have to change it at all
Boost comes on strong at only 5psi, but you can feel the response is quicker, not sluggish like before.
anyways just sharing my excitment of new found power.
Next mod will be AT fluid and filter...black as hell...:(

Hey Kaiser, where did you get the NGK wires and how much? You think I should run the 7 series also with my higher compression? The plugs still seem light on the tip, but get coated dark (from being rich at idle I think) overall.
Also, are you doing your AT fluid and filter change yourself? That's something I need to do also. Is it hard to do? BTW, the brake pad change was relatively easy. We were lucky that my rotors came right off too.
