i am going to pick up my new engine this week and was just wondering the best way to transport it. can i just put it in the back of a pickup and strap it down so it doesnt move around too much? or does it need to sit upright or any particular way? i was just gonna do the pickup thing but didnt want to bend or break anything. any ideas or help would be great, thanks

What kinda of swap are you doing?

I wouldn't set it directly on the truck bed.. put some boards under it or something it's not sitting directly on the metal.. riding the back of a truck is a pretty ruff experience.. hehe.

i am just swapping my engine(120k) with a newer one(70k), i threw my timing belt and it bent the valves and cracked the head, so i'm just getting a newer one, just a direct swap. i'm gonna throw the new timing belt and water pump i already bought for my other one(didnt get a chance to put em on before it went) on the new engine.

good idea with the boards, i got some padding too that should help some.

the JDM 4G63 I got arrived in a little nissan pickup truck. It was strapped to the cab and was on a little wodden support. As long as you strap it down and keep it off the metal bed you will be set.
