18826, Oil in Spark Plug well Posted by Chris_FL, Mar-30-02 06:02 AM
I just changed my spark plugs and I noticed some oil in #2 and #4. When I took out the plugs the were covered in oil. I'm no mechanic, but I know this cannot be good. I replaced the plugs and started the car. It was fine, no white smoke coming from the exhaust. The feels and drivews great. I just want to know what does the oil in there mean, and how do I get that fixed?
Thanks

Mine used to be like that. Just get a new valvecover gasket kit. It comes with little round gaskets that are for the plug wells.

Not a serious problem. Seems like a lot of us have had this problem. Like the post above said, just get a new valvecover gasket kit, and and that will fix the problem. This is a known issue on our cars. I replaced mine in under an hour. I would recommend new spark plugs though.
