18739, wheres the fuel pump? Posted by nappyjim, Mar-29-02 12:04 AM
ok, the car still wont start, som im thinking it is the fuel pump. Reason being it already went bad and i had it replaced. Then one day the car stopped working and i took it back into the shop and the guy asked me if anyone was messing with the car cause the punp was loose, i told him no. So i guess he tightneed it up and it worked. Well know the car wont start again and im thinking the dumb thing came loose again. So rather than spend 50 dollars on a tow and 2 days waiting for my car to be fixed, im assuming it would be fairly easy to tighten it up. So is there just one line/hose or what? Since it is called a fuel pump, im assuming it runs from my gas tank to somewhere unerneath my engine, correct?

in the gas tank... take out your rear seat and you will c a square cover, unbolt it and you will c where the pump goes.

Sorry did not finish reading... there are two lines the fuel line and then a "pressure" line unplug it first (thin one held on by a hose clamp) then twist off the fuel line (this one is tricky, only one side turns! not the hose but the piece that seems to be attached to the metal tube is the one that turns. don't turn the hose or you will break it.) I think I remembered right.. I did this last year.
