18728, car wont start.. help please. thanks Posted by evan2, Mar-28-02 10:58 PM
damn, finally after 2 years of beating it up it wont start. 95 eclipse rs 81k.
yesterday i drove her home from work parked her didnt drive her again. this morn i go out there.
turn the key and it made the noise like it wanted to start and u can here the starter and i think it has spark.. its like cuu chunk cuu chunck then it starts to shake and u can here some exhaust.. it sounds like the shaking is coming from the back and front of the car.. kids in the plot heard it too they like damn evan.. ahha.. so i kept trying and once it kinda held at the cuu chunk but then died..
im thinking its something with my valve train (timing belt) or ignition.. anyideas guys
i have had no hood for a while too but last night was not wet at all..
this totally sucks.. i hope its easy to fix i had plans for the cash i have haha..
Oh YEA I PULL NO CODES

Remove the timing belt inspection plate and see how the belt looks. See if it is loose or broken.

I would hope it's NOT the timing belt because cranking the car with a broken timing belt means some of the valves are most likely down and the pistons WILL hit them and there WILL be piston and valve damage and could even be some head damage.

yeah, i would never hope its the timing belt. Maybe your electronics under the hood (no wait, you dont have a hood, hahaha) got wet with the morning dew or something.

well this guy at work peter said it happened to his car b4.. and it was prob just water on the plugs or in there too much moisuture.. and thinks some of my plugs arent sparking.. so im going to go home and take that all apart and let them dry and spray some stuff that takes away moisture too.. plus do a compression test since the stuff wil be all out cept im going to try to do itmyself hehe

Just MAKE SURE you check the tightness of the timing belt BEFORE cranking it again.

If its the timeing belt and you keep trying to turn her over I feel bad.. I would check all your connections look for excess moisture around connections.

she runs.. just fine. heres my prob
did comp test this morn.. on a cold motor though. 75 160 160 160 then i did cyl 1 again for 60 then again with like 30 got some oil a few hours later put a cap full in and pulled a 90.
so i was like hmmmm prob a bad ring.. but im not sure.. what are symptoms of bad rings?
put new plugs in too and cleaned all that ish up
cranked her and it runs fine.. like always. so i was on my way to the store
and i broke 2 studs (grrr) too much power haah right. i thought the clanking noise was my car and was like hmmm.. but i thought it was studs then she was shaking so i knew itwas tires.
found out they are not pressed rotors which means this tire place will do it for 29bucks in the morn.. thanks to sean, kory and hades for tryin to help.. hades my comp froze up so i called satan
if they werent pressed it would be like108.. want to do it myself but i have no 17mm.. ill just do them in the morn at the tire place
but im still not sure about this comp thing i think i might test it tom ona warm motor
