18722, damn code 21 Posted by bing001, Mar-28-02 05:35 PM
Well I'm driving home in Denver, and this probe pulls along side of me revin really hard. I race him and put him in his place, but during 3rd gear at about 5 rpms my cel comes on.
Got home ok, key dance reveals code 21. I know it's the O2 sensor.
I've had this problem before, but last time I thought it was due to the fact I was leaking coolant from my radiator cap and it was leaking onto the connector. Fixed the leak, replaced the cap about 2 weeks ago and cleaned the connector and now it comes back on.
I used the search engine but couldn't find previous posts.
I want to replace both sensors, just wondering whether it will be difficult to do myself? Called Mile High Mitsu and they want like 350. If anyone can help please do...
Thanks.

It's very easy to change, only one bolt. You only need to change the upper o2.

i believe it is three cycles and leave on at the third try. Check the main page under INfo/Specs for PCM codes and key dance.
try clearing the codes and drive it around again. Maybe you might not even have to change the upstream O2 at all.
