18563, intake + heat on battery question Posted by soldier101, Mar-27-02 07:03 AM
I've finally decided to take you guys advice and let the intake hold the battery in place instead of the tie down (as to not rub a hole in the intake) but will the battery take the heat from the intake? because the intake will be pressed all the way against the battery, and I'm worried it'll get to hot and screw the battery up. Thanks for the help guys

Soldier,
You still have the factory battery? Let me know how it turned out. What's the name of the intake you installing?

DO NOT let the intake rub against the battery!!! I wore a hole through a perferctly good AEM intake doing that.
I had the stock battery, too. The fix is to take that damn cover off of the battery. If you think about it, if you buy a replacement battery, the battery cover probably won't fit around it. Take that cover off and put the battery tie-down back on. I have about 1/2" clearance with this setup. Trust me on this one... I have ~$150 worth of experience with my old intake.
