Heck yeah! We believe it to be the best on the market. It is light weight, has 30% underdrive and yields 8 to 11 hp gains. It also has a stainless steel center bushing to prevent crankshaft galling.

I am looking to buy a UDP in the near future, and was just wondering how hard are they to install?

I would highly recommend doing it somewhere where you have access to a good air ratchet. It makes life so much easier for this one. Otherwise you have to come up with some way of holding the pulley so it doesn't turn. Both on and off. You also need some SERIOUS heat to get the new one on. I used a map gas torch which is much hotter than propane and it was still tough.

go to vegasdsmr's web page, there is a link in his sig. Gives you a step by step as to how to install the thing. I used it and had success installing mine. BTW set aside a few hours to get this done!!

you guys and your damned pressed on crank pulley's.. hehe. I put a UDP on my zx2 just a few weeks ago.. only took an hour (half of which was routing the new belt). didn't need a '5-ton puller' or anything, just a TQ wrench, some extensions, and someone to hit the brakes. :)

Everyone is saying afx. I have seen a couple people with unorthodox. Is there a difference in performance?

umm, udp has nada to do w/smog...
afx udp =30% underdrive at 8-12 hp gain
unorthodox=20% underdrive which would ~~~result in a 5-8hp gain

u do the math...

besides the fact that the unorthadox usually goes for around 200 bux, the af/x will give you more hp and you can get it for 150 bucks. Or someone had one for sale for 140 bucks, one_cool_guy i think it was.

When you install an UDP are you suppose to use a shorter than stock belt?

They come with shorter than stock belts.

I hope that you are kidding about the searching crap. I would, but the search functions sucks balls.

Anyways, the REASON I was asking is because I think the "performance shop" that changed all my belts for me put the stock size on and that is why I am throwing belts. But I was not sure, so I thought I would ASK. After all this is an "open forum" right? I sure hope so.

They can't have put stock belts on there no way to even tension them close enough to even turn an accessory.

To whomever used a torch on the pulley NOOOOOO heating an al;uminum pulley is a very bad idea you can warp the pulley. not a problem on a cast iron pulley but do not do it to an aluminum pulley.
